Surviving Strong
New to the SheROX Mentor Program this year for both Philadelphia and Asbury Park!
If you are a cancer survivor, the SheROX Mentor Program would like to extend a special invitation for you to be mentored by a fellow survivor. Surviving Strong, a non-profit corporation based in the Philadelphia area, will provide mentoring support in preparation for the Philadelphia and Asbury Park SheROX races. Surviving Strong’s main goal is to reduce the barriers to fitness for cancer survivors and their support network.
The day you hear that you have cancer, you became a survivor. Learning you have cancer, the crash-course in oncology, the treatment and the after effects are a challenge. But like all challenges, this is an opportunity to be strong, stronger perhaps then you ever thought you could be. By signing up for this triathlon, you may be stepping a little out of your comfort zone and entering the extraordinary!
Surviving Strong is dedicated to helping you live healthy and strong, using fitness as the foundation for every day. We will help prepare you to get to the starting line, provide the opportunity to feel the confidence and empowerment of exerting control over a body that betrayed you with cancer, a body that was weakened by the treatments but refuses to give up! We encourage inclusion of your friends and family, your support network that you depend on. In addition, you will have the chance to build a larger network through our fun, low stress activities with other amazing individuals. Cancer is not our focus, but it does change things. We understand that and will help you reach your goals!
